Gratitude is a virtue one must have to attract abundance, whether you get what you want in this life or not.
Just as gratitude is the queen of all virtues, ingratitude is the opposite. It is commanded of us that we give thanks in the good and the bad, and the way to be grateful is to see all life as a gift.
We are human beings constantly in pursuit of happiness, and the only way of showing the entitlement to that happiness is by expressing gratitude. This act of gratitude not only improves one’s character but also reflects one’s emotional status.
We imagine that the world owes us provision, protection, wealth, and all the good things life could offer, but no, all things come from God. The only way to acknowledge a gift or favor we cannot repay is by giving thanks. That is more than enough.
Now that I remember, my parents taught me the act of showing gratitude when I was young. Every time I received something from them and did not say thank you, they took it back until I said the magic word. They were teaching me not to be entitled and self-absorbed – that no one owes us anything. Being aware of that by not expecting everything and owing nothing. Yes, the act of gratitude.
Here are seven things thankful people do:
1. See the best-case scenario. Grateful people see the best in every situation and maintain a positive mental attitude. They are never worried about anything because they are hopeful.
2. Do not allow temporary situations to define their lives. They know there is always a season for everything, but these seasons come and go.
3. Never complain. Complaints are a sign of ingratitude. They accept whatever comes as a way for them to grow.
4. Do not compare themselves to others. They know everyone has their journey, and every individual journey is unique. They embrace the different stages of their lives.
5. They take challenges as stepping stones to their more incredible being. Perseverance is a virtue they have.
6. Let go of the past. Grateful people do not let their past experiences define them; instead, they learn from their past and move on.
7. Extend their generosity to others. Sharing is a way of showing gratitude for what they have.
So, no matter what you are facing today, remember to wear the attitude of gratitude. It is golden.
