Legendary Kenyan musician, David Mathenge, popularly known by his stage name ‘Nameless’ has launched a new challenge on leading short-form mobile video platform, TikTok, dedicated to people in long distance relationships.
The #SingMySongChallenge, which was born as a result of his new track ‘Sing My Song’ launched earlier this month, is about a long-distance relationship with a loved one. The song highlights challenges loved ones face while fending for a living.
Calling on fans to join the challenge and sing with him, Nameless’ new hit comes at a time when Kenyans are required to adhere to social-distancing as well as quarantine and lockdown rules to stay safe from the coronavirus pandemic. The song goes on to talk about insecurities, longing for your significant other, memories as well as missed moments but most importantly reveals ways in which to keep the love alive during these unprecedented times.
The challenge has lit up moments for Kenyans on TikTok with more than 67.7K views as fans dance their hearts out to the new hit.
In a recent post on his TikTok account, @namelesskenya, Nameless said: “Yo! fam… Challenging y’all to join me on this #SingMySongchallenge who can do it better than me? Will gift the best top 5…let’s go!!.”
