The Justice and Freedom Party of Kenya (JFP) on Wednesday unveiled Reuben Kigame as its deputy party leader during a press conference held in Nairobi.
Kigame, a former presidential aspirant, will now deputize Justus Juma, the party leader of JFP.
During the unveiling ceremony, Kigame called on all Kenyans dissatisfied with bad governance and those who have yet to acquire Identity Cards to come out in large numbers and apply for them.
“Your ID and voter’s card are your tools for righting the wrongs committed in the past. Let’s prepare to remove the shame of bad governance through the ballot,” he said, emphasizing that JFP is a party that upholds strong values and provides a home for every Kenyan of integrity.
He also stressed that the youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, rather, they lead now.
Kigame stated that JFP is committed to mentoring Kenyan youth, particularly those aspiring for political positions in the upcoming general elections.
According to Kigame, the mentorship program aims to lay a solid leadership foundation for Generation Z as they prepare to challenge and uproot bad governance in the country.
“JFP will revive the hope of Kenyans and restore justice,” he declared, adding that the party plans to become the largest political party in the country ahead of the forthcoming elections.
In his speech, Party Leader Justus Juma emphasized that JFP is united in its mission to defend the rights of Kenyans as enshrined in the constitution.
“The constitution has granted us inalienable rights that cannot be taken away, not by any animal, nor by any human being,” he said, calling out leaders who misuse their power for selfish gains and acting out of ignorance.
He cited the recent arrests of women for speaking out about challenges they face with the Social Health Authority (SHA), as well as the abduction and execution of young activists who, he noted, would be celebrated as heroes in other countries.
“We have compartmentalized them as Gen Zs, but these are young Kenyans who have been championing reforms and pushing for accountability,” Juma said.
He assured Kenyans that “justice is here through JFP, and we have a hope that will uphold rights, respect citizens, and honour the constitution.”
