“The distance between those who achieve their goals consistently and those who spend their lives and careers merely following has everything to do with one’s ability to go the extra mile.” — Gary Ryan Blair
You do not want to be a follower. You want to be a student. A student learns from the ways of others. A student discerns. Be a good understudy to someone who is where you want to be or is at going to a destiny of your desire. Do not be a follower. Followers drift aimlessly – without cause or reason.
To be a committed student – and remember one person with a commitment is a better bet than a million with mere interest – get yourself a burning desire for high achievement. Commitment makes going the extra mile natural. It makes waking up in the morning fun.
The only thing I wish upon our generation, and generations to come in Africa, is unwavering commitment to doing more work and better-quality work in all undertakings.
If you form the habit of going the extra mile, you will live to see how much your commitment will transform you, and how much good you will influence in your community and this promising continent called Africa.
